You can also book directly at the psychologist's office. The entrance fee at the primary health care center during daytime hours is ISK 500, but the appointment fee is higher for private practices.
Psychologists services include assessment of the problem, treatment plan and psychotherapy, both individual and group therapy. The service also applies to women in maternity care and childcare.
Emphasis is placed on treatment for depression, anxiety and trauma where the problem is mild or moderate.
If a problem is found to be serious during an assessment interview, referrals are made to appropriate treatment.
